Tangled is Disney's 50th movie. The film was originally titled Rapunzel until it was changed to Tangled shortly before its release - this was done so as to appeal to both boys and girls and the male character Flynn Ryder was emphasized too in order to appeal to both boys and girls. Disney thought that the Princess and the Frog movie which preceded Tangled would have done better at the box office had the title not included the word 'Princess' this - they felt - probably kept boys from watching it and being interested in it.
Tangled premiered in theatres and in 3D cinemas in November of 2010 in the USA. Up until now Tangled it is the second most expensive film ever made, and the most expensive animated film, with a budget of $260 million. The most expensive film ever made is Spiderman 3.
